The Grounds Shop performs routine maintenance on the 110-acre campus, including:

  • Care of turf, trees and shrubs
  • Streets, roads, parking lots, sidewalks, patios, fences, benches, receptacles, and bike racks
  • Subsurface drains
  • #2 Audubon, Alumni House, St. Charles Avenue neutral ground and Broadway neutral ground
  • Underground irrigation system
  • Normal litter control
  • Control of roaches, ants, termites, and rats in academic buildings on a cyclic schedule
  • Regular mosquito fogging of campus


  • Each department funds:
  • Setup and cleanup from special events, such as TGIF's and graduation
  • Installation of banners
  • Rental and delivery of potted plants for special events
  • Pest control in non-academic areas
  • New installations or renovations
