The A&E Division offers a full range of architectural and engineering design, estimating, construction, renovation, and construction management services. The work can be performed in-house by the Facilities Services Construction shop or by an outside contractor.
For construction and renovation, the A&E Division provides these services:
- Prepares architectural and engineering (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) plans and specifications for requested projects
- Prepares budget estimates for project costs
- Determines major material requirements for construction projects, and, to assure compatibility with existing systems, identifies specific equipment design
- Initiates Change Order to ongoing projects, identifying all work modifications from the originally established project, including any changes in cost
- Maintains operational files, drawings, and engineering historical data on Facilities Services and associated systems structural modifications
- Designs and implements energy conservation measures
- Manages projects
