Technology Support

Technology Support is responsible for:

  • Computer support
  • Local area network and domains
  • User training and support
  • The staff supports these systems:

    Archibus Space Management System
Archibus links Autocad floorplans of buildings to an Oracle space survey database of rooms, square footage, occupants, and room usage. The data is used for planning purposes and for the Indirect Cost Proposal prepared by Grants Accounting.

    Kronos Timekeeping System
Kronos is a Web-based system for tracking employee time, stored in Oracle. Biweekly employees use their ID cards to swipe in and out each day. Kronos tracks regular time and overtime as well as sick, vacation, and holiday time. The data is fed electronically to the Cyborg payroll system, which returns current vacation and sick accruals data to Kronos.

    Livelink Contract Management System
Livelink processes contracts for construction, renovation, remodeling, property maintenance and service. Qualified contractors can sign a five-year standard contract with the university: the Master Service Agreement, which is stored in Livelink. Contracts for specific projects are then entered into Livelink and signed electronically by the contractor and by the appropriate project manager and university officer before work begins. Contracts are stored and queried in Oracle.

    TMA Maintenance Management System
Facilities Services departments on both the uptown (St. Charles) and downtown (Medical School) campuses manage their facilities with TMA. The TMA Oracle database is administered by Data Systems at the downtown campus. Uptown Facilities processes work orders, including ServiceWave requests entered on the Web; preventive maintenance; and construction projects (job orders) in TMA. Technicians hotsync PDA’s (personal digital assistants) several times a day to receive new work tickets and to record their labor and results. Accounting transactions are sent to TAMS weekly (billable equipment and parts) or biweekly (billable labor).
