Utilities Infrastructure is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems; plumbing systems; the power plant; and heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems and controls.
Utilities Infrastructure includes:
Machine Shop
Plumbing Shop
Power Plant
Refrigeration/Instrumentation
Location: Facilities Services Building, 1st Floor
Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Machine Shop performs maintenance and repair of mechanical systems in all campus buildings.
The Machine Shop funds unscheduled/emergency repairs and regular preventive maintenance for:
Steam lines, steam traps, chilled water lines
Air handlers
Chilled water pumps, heating hot water pumps, outside sump pumps, fire pumps,
condensate pumps
Boilers
Chillers
Cooling towers
Each department funds:
Renovation or new construction of above systems
Location: Facilities Services 1st floor
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Plumbing Shop performs plumbing maintenance and repair on all campus buildings.
Plumbing Shop Staff
The Plumbing Shop funds unscheduled/emergency repairs and regular preventive maintenance for:
Sinks, toilets, urinals
Sewer lines; water lines; vacuum and air lines; gas lines; gas barbecue pits
Sump pumps, hot water circulating pumps
Water heaters, floor furnaces
Air conditioning drains
Water softeners, water distillation equipment
Sprinkler systems
Each department funds:
Renovation or new construction of above systems
Location: Basement of J.L. House
Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

direct expansion (DX or package) systems
water coolers
refrigeration equipment
chilled water units
central plant system refrigeration equipment
controls for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
The Refrigeration/Instrumentation shop funds:
Routine, preventive, and unscheduled/emergency maintenance of air conditioners (window units and DX units) in academic buildings and residence halls
Maintenance of built-in drinking fountains
Heating and cooling systems
Thermostat calibration
Air handler controls
Pneumatic, electronic, and digital controls
Each department funds:
Refrigerators (portable and laboratory)
Freezers and walk-in coolers
Fans (portable or pedestal)
Athletics and Auxiliary Enterprises air conditioning and refrigeration
Renovation or new construction of above systems return to top
